Death where is thy sting? Oh Grave, where is thy victory? Today we honor and celebrate the life of a woman who touched the hearts and lives of all who knew her. Sharon Brown-Duffas was born Sharon Brown to Selvin Brown and Velrina Johnson on December 15, 1959. Born in the lush landscapes of Jamaica, She was not just a daughter of the island, but a shining example of its spirit – vibrant, strong-willed, and full of life. As a mother, Sharon was the embodiment of selflessness. Her love knew no bounds, and her child, Sheldon, was her pride and joy. She gave him the best life she could and poured her heart and soul into nurturing him; instilling in him the values of kindness, perseverance, and most of all hard work. As a grandmother, she cherished the moments she spent with her grandchildren. During her final years, she was unable to go far from home due to illness. However, her grandchildren where never far from her heart. Sharon was more than a mother and grandmother; she was a friend to all. Her genuine kindness and compassion knew no bounds. She had a way of making everyone feel valued and loved, offering a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, and words of encouragement when needed most. Her strong work ethic was truly inspiring. Sharon was determined to own a home and worked tirelessly to achieve that goal. She sold merchandise, took whatever jobs were available and saved relentlessly. She was an inspiration to many who watched her do everything possible to survive and stay afloat. Whether it was in her professional endeavors or in the care she poured into her family, she gave her all, setting an example of hard work and dedication for us all to follow. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched. Let us take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, her legacy of love and resilience forever etched in our hearts. As we say goodbye to our beloved Sharon, let us carry forward the lessons she taught us – to love unconditionally, to persevere in the face of adversity, and to cherish every moment we have with those we hold dear. Rest in peace, dear friend, dear mother, grandmother, and sister. Your light will continue to shine brightly in our lives, guiding us with love and warmth, just as you always have.
