Myron Banks

MYRON L. BANKS was born on May 5, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was son of the late Vincent and Lucy Mae Banks alongside his late twin brother Michael D. Banks. He grew up on the Westside of Baltimore, receiving his education through the Baltimore City Public School System. Myron wore many hats throughout his life. Above all, he was a devoted father and Pop-Pop to his family. He earned the title of “Best Dad in the Universe”. His skills were vast, ranging from flooring (hardwood, tile, and carpet) with his good friend Ray, house rehab to drywall, ceiling installation, roofing, painting, brake repairs, electrical work, and more. He spent over 30 years as a store manager at Market at Highlandtown in Baltimore, MD. His work ethic was as strong as his words; those who worked with him often received his fiery encouragement, delivered with love. He was passionate about his work and loved attending food shows across the country. His enthusiasm for travel and commitment to providing fresh food were hallmarks of his career. Myron held a deep affection for his late grandparents Dan and Virginia Ward, who took exceptional care of him and his siblings. He knew the best place to eat was at home with Nannie (Grandmother). She taught him how to cook and he made the best pancakes, turkey, and chicken for his family. He cherished his Westside, North and Penn neighborhood, and had a dynamic personality that inspired those around him. He was known for his tough love and encouraging others to strive for greatness. He embodied the spirit of a warrior and a leader. Preceding Myron in death were his wife Tanya Goode-Banks and his only beloved son Myron Todd Banks. Myron leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters, London Banks and Juernene Banks; seven grandchildren Myron Dante, MyKira, Kyla, Karlito, Cameron, Cayden, and King; three great-grandchildren, Trent, Dash and Kenzi; siblings Vincent (Janice) Banks, Gwen Byrd, and Paula (Paul) Banks; a host of nieces and nephews; many childhood friends, including Vanessa, Sissy, Rosalyn; and all of Market at Highlandtown family. Myron L. Banks will be remembered for this strength, dedication, and the indelible mark he left on all who know him
