Rigoberto Everado King was born on February 7, 1951, in the country of Panama. He was the firstborn to Roberto King, Sr. and Olga King. Years later, he would be joined by his brothers Roberto King and the late Rogelio King. Together, the brothers spent their childhood causing all sorts of mischief in their neighborhood in Colon. In 1969, Rigo graduated from Artes Y Oficio, a high school located in Panama City, Panama. With a mighty afro, stylish bell bottoms, and the reflective shine of his signature Panamanian gold teeth, Rigoberto migrated to the United States. By comparison, his slender and handsome physique, coupled with his charisma, was in the likeness of the late Richard Roundtree, who starred in the movie Shaft. Those who had the pleasure of truly knowing him understood he was hip. Brooklyn was never the same. While serving in the Army, Rigoberto became a skilled electrician. He received the following medals while serving in Korea: National Defense Service and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals. Rigoberto became a skilled electrician while in the Army. He received an honorable discharge in October 1974. He dedicated his life to being a contractor with his love for being an electrician. As a contractor, he was known for his beautiful home rehabilitation, fair prices, and quick work. In 2017, Rigo married the love of his life Joyce King and they both spent their retirement, studying the Word and worshiping our Lord and Savior. Armed with the Word of God, he touched the lives of many through his Bible Studies. Rigoberto was known for his devotion to Christ, intelligence, loving nature, sense of humor, and caring spirit. Rigo made every person feel heard, valued and loved. Rigo loved his family dearly and leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife Joyce King; his eight children, Vanetta King, Rigoberto King Jr., Rigoberto King, Ill, Andrea Smith King, Christopher King, Demetrius King, and Dominic King; his brother Roberto King; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces; nephew; three brothers-in-law; three sistersin-law, family, and friends too numerous to mention. Family and friends will remember Rigo for his warmth, wisdom, kind spirit, and his unwavering love and support. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
