David Gilbert Roane Jr., son of Sadie and David Roane, Sr. was born on March 31, 1985 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life suddenly on January 1, 2025. David received his education through The Baltimore City Public Schools System, graduating from Randallstown High School in 2003. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2007. and his Masters of Science in Criminal Justice in 2014, both from Coppin State University. David loved football and he was a huge Ravens fan. His dream was to become a professional football player. He was a star linebacker with several college offers until September 2000 when he was in a car accident in Hays, Kansas that resulted in him becoming a Quadriplegic. David did not let his paralysis stop him from living his life and was determined not to be treated as a handicap. His independence was a priority and he was set on doing as much for himself as possible. He learned to drive, play video games, and bowl all while being in a wheelchair. David loved music and could hold a tune. He enjoyed listening to live bands, gospel, and jazz music. He wrote several gospel songs and sang on the praise team at his church... playing the drums was a hobby he enjoyed before his accident. David was a faithful member of Excellent Way Ministry Outreach, where Bishop Michael Small Sr. is the Senior Pastor. He was saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Spirit. His whole existence was centered around him being a Kingdom citizen, operating in Kingdom principles that stem from the word of God. He was employed by the Social Security Administration since 2012 where his skills, education, and love for people was put on display. In 2019, David met the love of his life, Tyra Roane. They were married by 2021, and from that union they had four beautiful children. His family was his first priority, and spending time with them, for him brought so much joy, whether it was a family outing at a restaurant or watching a movie. As long as they were together, he was at peace. David loved being a husband. He enjoyed spoiling his wife and giving her everything that her heart desired. He displayed the love of Christ with his actions and always made her feel like she was the prettiest lady in the world. David touched everyone that he came in contact with. He was always encouraging whomever he talked to. He loved to watch MMA and UFC Fighting, he loved to travel, and always wanted to create businesses that would eventually produce generational wealth. David's charming smile, his warm embrace and his loving heart will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his uncles, Linwood Sr. and Ernest; aunts, Ann and Ophelia; and his grandmother, Sadie. David leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tyra; his children, Ta'Mya (Justin), Makayla, Brandon, Terrell, and Dy'Niah; mother, Sadie; father, David Sr.; brother, Edward (Johanna); sisters, Nickia (Terry and Miranda; nephews and nieces, Daniel (Alicia), Tavia, Natalia, Malia, Josiah, Ava, Maliyah, Naliyah Kyle, Kiley; mother-in-law, Waline; sisters-in-law, Brittany, Whitney, and Myra; sister-cousins, Termar and Markita; brother-cousins, Calvin Jr., Lamont Sr., Herb, Linwood Jr., Joshua, Samuel Jr. and CJ; uncles-fathers, Samuel Sr. and Michael Sr. (Palastine); uncle, Kelvin; aunts, Luwanna, Emily, Velma, Z Regina, Ernestine, Lorna; great-aunt, Shirley; godfather, Michael; close friends, Jamaal, Iggy, Devon &and Johnny; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
