Walter Tyrell Brown

Walter Tyrell Brown was the youngest son of the late Walter Edmonds Sr. and the late Jean Brown. Known to family and friends as Tyrell Tee or Ty from a young age Tyrell was a sports competitor and an avid sports fan. He competed in running track, playing football and basketball in high school and with determination fulfilled a personal dream by winning a championship when he played semi-pro football with the Jersey Oaks Football Team. Later in life he won championships as a volunteer baseball and basketball coach for his sons and other local boys for the New Brunswick recreation league. When he no longer played he enjoyed many, many conversations with his sons, family and friends involved sports analysis and statics. Stephen A. Smith and Charles Barkley were "very good friends" of his via the TV set in his man cave. He love challenges in education he attended New Brunswick High School and received additional Trade school training in New Brunswick, NJ.,and Baltimore, MD. He was a long-time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local 456 for many years after becoming and electrical journeyman. After moving to Maryland he changed careers and became a marketing manager at Dennis Marketing in Baltimore, MD and later was employed as a client advocate at the law Office of Fred London in Baltimore, MD. After accepting Jesus as his Savior he was later ordained a deacon at Macedonia Church in Piscataway, NJ. Tyrell pursued ministerial studies after becoming a member of First Assembly of God Church (now Eternal Life Christian Center)in Somerset, NJ where he was later licensed as an evangelist. There, Tyrell functioned in many roles including associate minister, Sunday School Superintendent and Young Adult Ministry with his wife. He met his junior high school sweetheart Wilma Jewel Harrison in 1968 and married in 1975. Tyrell leaves to cherish his memory his "help mate" Wilma Jewel, sons Andre Montgomery (Leebra) GA., Tyrell (Lissette) VA., and Matthew Brown (Laura) MD.,eight granddaughters Lafesha (Andre) Johnson, Tiara and Dreana Barnes, Jaydah, Genesis, Joy, Story Jean and Luna Brown; great-grands Siraya, Avonte', Amiyah, Andrea Johnson and Marcel Barnes. He was brother to Robert (Alice) Brown GA., Walter (Rose) Edmonds Jr. NJ., Lester (Eva) Edmonds NJ., Janice Edmonds, VA., and Virginia (Henry) Capers NJ.,and the late Freddie Brown, NJ., Brother-in-law Walter (Malkita) Harrison, FL., Jennifer (John) Lecato , MD., Wendy (Alvin) Wyms, FL., and Christine Harrison, TN., son-in-law to Artencie Harrison in addtion to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be missed but his influence still lingers on.
