SIMILOLUWA DOLAPO OLUSOLA was born on the 9th of October 1989 in the quiet town of Osogbo, Osun state in South West Nigeria to the family of Mr. Abayomi and Mrs. Bolanle Olusola of the Aro family house at Atiba Ikere Ekiti. She had her elementary education at St. Clare’s School in Osogbo, Osun State. For secondary, she went on to attend The International School, University of Ibadan (UI) and from there continued to UI, popularly known as Premier University, where she earned a degree in Physiology. Her quest for more knowledge led her to earn a certificate in Social Sector Management from the Pan Atlantic University, and a MicroMasters in Data, Economics, and Development Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a 2020 Acumen West Africa Fellow, a Strategy Advisor for TechHer NG, a 2019 Fellow of the African Women Startup Entrepreneurship Cooperative, a 2016 LEAP Africa Social Innovators Program fellow, a 2017 member of the Young African Leadership Initiative RLC West Africa, and an International Citizen Service volunteer. On the 9th of December 2017, she married Oluwagbenga Osowe and the union is blessed with a son, Imooreoluwa Similoluwa Osowe, fondly called Simi Junior “SJ”. Simi was a humanitarian par excellence with key interest in development in education, sustainable livelihoods and health as regards children and women as well as human rights. She describes herself as a multi-potentialite and this is evident in her work as a • Founder of Aspilos Foundation • Program Manager (Software Engineering), The Room • Head of Innovation, Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development • Program & Africa Expansion Manager, Ajala Simi had a passion for development in Africa which has seen her live and work as a volunteer in rural areas in Nigeria and Ghana. Her firm belief that all that is needed for evil to continue is for good people to do nothing and this prompted her to entire the political space, leading to her emergence as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Ikere II constituency, Ekiti state. Similoluwa leaves behind a sweet memory which will be treasured by her son, Simi Jnr, husband, Gbenga, siblings – Akinwale, Olujide, Oreoluwa and Ifeoluwa, mother, father, the entire Olusola & Fadeyi families, nieces and nephews, Aspilos Foundation, TBC, isol8 Group, PremiaBN, ACUMEN, PDP Nigeria, Ikere Town, and other friends and associates
