Karen Regina Knox Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

THE RISING OF THE SUN If I can help somebody as I travel along then my living shall not be in vain. At an early age Karen Regina Knox affectionately known as “Kitten” attended Pentecost United Holiness Church in Baltimore, MD, under the leadership of elder/overseer George Wilson. Also, Karen attended Pentecostal Church of Deliverance Baltimore, MD, under the leadership of Pastor Marie Brice where she received the holy ghost. When she relocated with her late husband Edward Knox, Sr. (Hosea) to Richmond, VA, she attended Chicago Ave. Baptist Church under the leadership of Marlin Haskell and was baptized along with husband (husband) and sister (Cynthia Doyle). Mrs. Karen Regina Knox “Kitten” departed this life on July 26, 2023, with her family by her side. Karen was provided home hospice where her dream team LaShawn Hicks, Robin Bailey Jackson (Angel), and Tenica Folks (Tudda) had provided care along with other family members until being transferred to Franklin Square Hospital hospice unit in Baltimore, MD. She was very strong and fought cancer for more than a year. Karen was the daughter and middle child of the late Mrs. Johnnie Mae White and Mr. Donald Bailey, Sr. She was preceded in death by one sibling Donald Bailey, Jr. Affectionately known as (Poochie). THE GLEAMING OF THE SUN Karen’s early childhood was spent in Baltimore where she attended Eastern High School while working at McDonald’s as her first job. She held various occupations from nursing to Morgan State University PD until retirement, and lastly serving as a Baltimore County school bus driver. Karen was a great mentor to the younger and older generation especially to the children in the family. Karen met the love of her life in 1975, the late Mr. Edward Allen Knox, Sr., affectionately called (Hosea). They fell in love and married on April 6, 1981. To this union one son was born March 2nd, Hosea’s birthday. They named him after his dad Edward Allen Knox, Sr. affectionately called “Peppy”. This made Hosea the happiest man in the world that his first and only son was born on his birthday “what a gift”. They were together for 47 years and married 41 years until his death. They were high school sweethearts when you saw one you definitely saw the other. They were like Mutt and Jeff; you couldn’t keep them apart. They loved one another even unto death. Kitten was strong until the end and never wavered in her faith she knew she would be healed of this cancer even if it meant on the other side. She was a die-hard Raven’s fan; she and family would gather to watch the game while she cooked scrumptious meals. She loved dancing with her husband and listening to the oldies but goodies music. She was known to be well respected and loved by her peers and would go to the end of the world for her family! THE SHINING OF THE SUN She leaves not mourn, but to cherish the memories are her only loving son, Edward Allen Knox, Jr. (Peppy) of Baltimore, MD: two grandsons, Edward Allen Knox 3rd of Virginia Beach Virginia, “Navy Man” Dontae Wilson, of Baltimore, MD “Our longshoreman”, two great grandsons, little Nasir Wilson and Jrue Knox of Baltimore MD. Four sisters Ms. Deborah Bailey of Md., Mrs. Cynthia S. (Michael) Doyle of Richmond Virginia, Mrs. Robin “Angel” & the late Maurice Jackson of Baltimore, MD. Two brothers the late Donald Bailey, Jr. “Poochie”, and Donte Bailey of Eastern Shore, MD. BONUS SISTERS Pamela Bailey, Sharon Bailey, Victoria Bailey and Derria Bailey-Hutchinson all of Baltimore, MD; father Mr. Donald Bailey Sr. of Baltimore, MD, mother the late Mrs. Johnnie Mae White “Terry”. One aunt and uncle Mrs. Lula Mae “Lula” (Frederick) “Fred” Williams of Middle River, MD., Lula the bestie along with Willie and Emily Bridges, Georgina McCray, Connie Sample, Fatima Wallace, Carol Cooper, and one awesome loyal family. Let’s not forget Kitten’s cousin/mother Miss 21 “LaShawn Hicks” as daddy called her. Kitten and Hosea inherited two sons Mr. Eric Bannister, Mr. Brian Crandell and lazy hazy Tavon (boy). Much love to a special brother-in-law Mr. Michael Doyle, & cousin-in-law, Rev. Richard A. Mosley, Sr. Always there for the family. Leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews, I will always love you all. Special thanks to Pastor/overseer Mr. George V. Wilson & lady Blanche Wilson for always being there may God eternally bless you all.
