Dexter E. Greene

Dexter Eugene Greene was born in Baltimore, Md on August 4th, 1968 to Virginia May Greene (nee Brown) and Albert Clayton Greene, Sr. He attended Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Dunbar High Schol in 1986. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Management from University of Maryland, County (UMBC) 1991. While at UMBC, in the Fall of 1987, Dexter was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, Zeta Upsilon Chapter. Dexter loved his Blu Phi and the brothers that came with it. Through his membership in Phi Beta Sigma. Dexter met many lifelong friends and brothers whom he loved and respected dearly. Dexter began working at Allstate Insurance Co. in 1991 and built a lifelong carer where he held many different jobs. His career with Allstate led him to relocate to Chicago, Illinois in 2005. His time in Chicago afforded him the privilege of gaining even more friends and many became family. While there, he kept his Sigma light shining and joined the Iota Nu Sigma Chapter where he led many initiatives and committees. One of his many claims to fame was his networking events that he created with the help of friends and frat: Blu Tuesdays. After about a decade in Chicago, he moved back home to Baltimore and eventually opened his own Allstate agency in 2016. The agency continues to thrive and serve the community. Upon his return to the DMV area in 2015, Dexter joined the Sigma Sigma Sigma Chapter of Montgomery County, MD. He served on the Bigger and Better Business Community and Taylor Morse Brown Foundation Board. Dexter stood firm in his belief that networking and self-branding were integral to success. Therefore, he continued the Blu Tuesday networking events in the DC area but rebranded them to be called Collab Tuesdays. These were upscale happy hour events `where guests were encouraged to network. In 2018 he joined 100 Black Men of America, further impressing his passion for helping others upon his legacy. Dexter's infectious laugh, bright smile, quick wit, attention to every detail, zest for life, willingness to fail and wherewithal to get back up allowed him a full and greatly accomplished life. To cherish his memory Dexter leaves his daughter, Cydney Greene, his niece with whom he shared a special bond, Tiane Hill, nine sisters: Altoria, Linda, Sherry Harrison (Marvin), Julie, Crystal Johnson (Lennard), Joyce Saunders (Jimmy), Edna Isaacs, and LaTrenda Glenn, two brothers: Al Greene, Jr. & Glen Roscoe, 10 nieces, 14 nephews, close friends: Tenika Taylor, Darian Trotter-Thomas, J. Ethan Bashir, Maurice Bowie, Belinda Sykes & Markita McNair, and a host of great -nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family. friends and frat brothers.
